This
ten-week tutorial is designed to capture the interest of Alaskan girls
in literature while giving them an opportunity to explore their own
sense of identity. The students will read five books about young women
beginning with a story related to the Native experience and moving to
two Alaskan stories, then two other pieces. The project
includes exploring the literature through other media, either audio or
video and a final project that is a written story reflecting the
student’s own experience. My daughter Jessica Vetsch and I will team tutor!
The course earns .5 credit.
The cost is $120.
Limited to 6-8 high school students.
We will meet in the Frontier Annex.
This course transcribes as Teen Issues in Literature #H0375 in the ASD High School Program of Studies booklet.
Dates/times - Tuesdays from 1:30 - 2:30 starting September 14 and finishing November 23.
